Full Day Workshop – Inspiration Day
Brand New for 2019!
Our ‘Inspiration’ full day workshop is the perfect choice for those who are less confident to design the artwork themselves, as Steve has come up with the ‘inspiration’ for you.
You will make up to three wall panels of 25cm x 25cm. You can choose from the designs below, which Steve has already produced. He will show you how to recreate these in the glass, using stencils that have already been prepared.
Some designs are easier than others, and Steve will talk you through the options. The harder designs are those those that require more shading with the enamel powders, which is a skilled technique that Steve will show you.
You could choose a different design for each panel, or you might like to create two or three different versions of the same design to form a diptych or triptych display, depending on which grade you choose. Steve will discuss with you on the day what is achievable.
Your finished panel(s) will be fired for you overnight, ready for collection the next day.

Whats the plan for the day?
After a health & safety briefing, Steve will be demonstrating the techniques he uses, from preparing the glass to applying the enamels, through to assembling the piece ready for the kiln. There will be opportunity for practicing the application of colours in the morning, and then a break for lunch. Upon return to the Studio you will then have the rest of the afternoon to make your wall hanging. Steve will provide as much personal assistance and guidance as you need.
Who else will be there?
Places will be strictly limited to five per workshop to allow everyone ample access to Steve’s expertise.
What can I take home with me?
You should have time to make three of the easier panels, or two medium difficulty panels or at least one harder panel. If you have time left in the day, you are also welcome to make a tea-light panel.
Whats the cost?
The cost of each place is £295. This must be paid in full to secure your place.
What does the cost include?
The all-inclusive cost covers your tuition, all materials that you will be using, protective mask and apron, a yummy pub lunch and other refreshments, the item you make to take home, and fixings with which to hang them.
Can I bring a friend?
To allow everyone plenty of space to work only those paying for a place will be able to attend during the day; however your friends and family are welcome to come in at the end of the day to see the fruits of your labours before your piece is fired in the kiln, and again the following day for the grand kiln-opening!
