ONE-TO-ONE LIVE ONLINE CLASS
“What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. Steve’s course was so interesting. I knew nothing about glass before we started and now I have so many questions that I am begging for more! The making was totally absorbing and thoroughly enjoyable, and the end result is such a delight. Thank you so much, Steve.”
In the convenience of your own home or studio, Steve will provide a one-to-one personal class using online technology such as Zoom, to guide you through the basics of glass fusing with enamels to create your own unique glass art panel.
Whats the plan for the class?
After a health & safety briefing, Steve will demonstrate the techniques he uses, and then guide you step-by-step to make a fused glass panel in your own design.
What can I make?
You will be making a panel in a size of 20cm x 20cm. You could frame this, or mount it with wall-fixings, or even use it as a feature tile.
Whats the cost?
The cost of the session is £120. There is the option to purchase a materials pack, and this makes the total cost £160.
What does the cost include?
The cost covers your personal one-to-one tuition class with Steve (the session lasts up to a maximum of two hours) and if you opt for the materials pack this will include:
- Two sheets of float glass size 20cm x 20cm, tin-side marked
- Set of 8 enamel colours (5g of each) – 4 opaque colours (white, black, light grey, red) and 4 transparent colours (yellow, light green, royal blue and aqua)
- Sheet of kiln fibre paper
- Disposable face mask and pair of latex gloves
- Sieve for applying the colours
- Roller
- Craft knife
Do I need to provide anything myself?
Steve will be showing you how to use stencils to create your design with the enamels – a craft knife is included in the materials pack, so you just need to have some card ready – the side of a cereal packet is ideal. You’ll also need a teaspoon and containers to mix colours in (clean used yogurt pots are ideal).
You will need access to a kiln to fire your glass in – it needn’t be a specialist glass kiln, you can use most pottery kilns too – if unsure please check with us first.
How do I book?
You can purchase a place online here. Once you have purchased your class we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient date and time; Steve usually needs a minimum of 4 weeks notice but may be able to fit you in sooner. If you’d like to know his current availability before purchasing, feel free to contact us.
If you have selected to include a pack of materials, this will be sent to you in plenty of time.
If you would like to give this online class to someone as a gift, thats no problem at all – just select the gift voucher option when you book. We will then email or post (whichever you prefer) a voucher to you. (Do make sure that the recipient would have access to a kiln!)
Are there any other private tuition options?
Yes! Steve can also offer online and in-person private workshops, tailored to suit you. Please get in touch to discuss what you’d like to learn and we can put a quote together for you.
